Registration is closed

We are excited to announce our partnership with the Flats Platform Tennis Center to bring our members monthly platform tennis sessions. Each month, our Club will have two tennis courts reserved for 1.5 hours of play time for a total of 8 people. During the session, basic instruction from a Flats Volunteer will be onsite to teach and facilitate play. Loaner paddles & practice balls will be made available (participants must wear tennis shoes on court). Please do not bring your own equipment because equipment will be provided. Sign up for one, two, or all five sessions, but advanced registration is required.

Access to hut & restrooms will be made available during the visit.

Please use these links to sign up for the other sessions.

What is “platform tennis”, or “paddle”?

The most fun game you’ll ever play. It’s a bit of tennis, racquetball and chess all mixed together. Think of shrinking a tennis court, putting it up on a deck surface (so the heaters below can melt the snow in the winter), then surrounding the whole thing with chicken wire. You can hit the ball off a bounce in the court, or off the wire screens. We play almost exclusively doubles, and it’s a great social game, but can be played competitively at all levels. It’s also a great mixed doubles game, because power doesn’t always win…it’s a game of strategy and finesse, where most of the time, the last person to touch the ball, loses the point. Here's some more info on the game.

What type of equipment do I need to play paddle?

There are 3 critical pieces of equipment required: a paddle, a paddle ball and a pair of tennis shoes. For beginners who want to try it out, we'll have loaner paddles and used balls available on site.
