In today's food scene, the richly flavored Vietnamese soup Pho (pronounced "fuh") is a favorite of many, and in Cleveland we are fortunate to have several locations where we can get a hearty bowl of this warm deliciousness; but it was not always so. When Superior Pho's owner Manh Nguyen came to Cleveland in the 1970s, he had to drive all the way to Washington DC to get his Pho fix. In 2002, he set out to change that and opened Superior Pho, considered to be Cleveland's original Pho house. Mr. Nguyen was so serious about the quality of his Pho that on one of those early days when he felt that he had not gotten the broth recipe correct, he closed for the day rather than serve an inferior product.
