For February’s hike, we will explore the AB Williams Memorial Forest inside the North Chagrin Reservation. AB Williams offers two main attractions: old-growth hardwood trees and chickadees.
AB Williams has beeches, maples, and other species that are over 400 years old, which is why it is included on the list of National Natural Landmarks.
AB Williams also has a small shelter house situated on an overlook within the forest. Chickadees congregate around this shelter house because it is a popular spot for hand feeding them. The Club will provide sunflower seeds for all the hikers to participate in this unique experience with nature.
