Sometimes it's easy to miss the hidden beauty in the environment around us, and such is the case with Doan Brook Gorge. While hundreds of people commute past it each day on their way to and from work, most have no idea that it’s even there. Dropping as much as 100 feet below the level ground above, Doan Brook cuts through the bedrock and irrigates the lush forest rising up on either side. With several levels of trails that feature narrow traverses and sudden changes in elevation, the Gorge makes for a scenic and invigorating hike neatly hidden between Cleveland, Shaker Heights, and Cleveland Heights.

For this hike, we will meet at the Lake-to-Lakes Bike Repair Station at the corner of Coventry Road and North Park Boulevard. Parking is not available on those streets, but you can park on the nearby side streets of Demington and Colchester: https://goo.gl/maps/8wFXdUSPVPD2
