Donald A. Malone, Jr., M.D., is currently Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and the President of Lutheran Hospital. He is also the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at The Cleveland Clinic where he performs duties as Director of the Center for Behavioral Health. He is Chair of the Cleveland Clinic Strategic Space Planning Committee and a member of the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise Risk Management Committee 

Dr. Malone graduated with his M.D. degree from The Northeastern Ohio University’s College of Medicine in 1985.  There he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.  Following his medical school training, he did one year of internship in internal medicine followed by a psychiatric residency at The Massachusetts General Hospital. Since 1989, he has been at The Cleveland Clinic.  Dr. Malone has been very active in research, education, and various local and national committees.  He has held positions in The Ohio Psychiatric Association, The American Psychiatric Association, The Association for Convulsive Therapy, and The American College of Psychiatrists.  Currently, he is on the Board of Directors for The International Society for Neurostimulation.  His research has been primarily in the areas of anxiety disorders, anabolic steroid use and abuse, ECT, and most recently, Deep Brain Stimulation.  He has authored numerous publications in these areas and presented both nationally and internationally.
