Greg Stefani is first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Appointed to the position in 2011, Mr. Stefani is the second ranking official of the Bank which serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District, comprised of Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.

 Mr. Stefani chairs the Bank’s Executive Leadership Team and oversees all operating and support activities in the Cleveland headquarters, as well as in the Bank’s branches in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. During Mr. Stefani’s 30-year tenure with the Bank, he has held positions of increasing responsibility within the Supervision and Regulation, Credit Risk Management, and Statistics and Analysis departments. His responsibilities included establishing a function to assess capital market activities in supervised Fourth District financial services organizations. In 2006, he also established an organization-wide Policy and Strategic Analysis function, designed to elevate the Bank’s contributions to banking and payments policy issues. In 2007, Mr. Stefani was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer, and he has developed expertise in strategic planning and risk management.

Mr. Stefani is active in the Fourth District’s civic community. He is a member of the board of directors of United Way of Greater Cleveland and the board of advisors of the Commission on Economic Inclusion, co-chairing the Membership Impact Committee. He also serves on the Board of Advocates for the College of Business at Bowling Green State University. He has served as past president of the board of directors at University Settlement, Inc., a non-profit social services organization serving the Broadway/Slavic Village community. In 2010, he completed Leadership Cleveland, a program designed to build leadership resources within the greater Cleveland community.

A native of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Mr. Stefani received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and finance and an MBA from Bowling Green State University. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado.
