We have a terrific opportunity to volunteer with Junior Achievement. Spots are limited. However, please join the wait-list if none are left; JA may be able to add spots due to interest.
Junior Achievement is an organization focused on providing work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills to students K through 12. They do this by providing volunteers with single day education lesson plans to teach and facilitate a class of students. These classes are one-day commitments from volunteers and contribute to the multiple experiences students have with Junior Achievement through their entire education from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
- Volunteer tasks: we will be delivering Junior Achievement's lesson plan to students at Memorial School in Cleveland. Prior to the day, Junior Achievement will provide everything volunteers will need to have and to know for the day of the event. During the event day, we will teach the specific lesson plan provided to us by Junior Achievement along with the assistance of the class's full-time teacher. The lesson plan will be focused around work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. No specific knowledge or skills are necessary for volunteers prior to the event.
- Dress: Wear business, business casual, or similar professional clothing.
- Sign-up requires a firm commitment to attend. We understand this is during a week-day and work-hours. Some employers may provide paid time off for volunteer events.
- This event is open for Board, Annual and Monthly Professional, and Social Members.
