Join us for a Lunch & Learn hosted by the Cleveland Rotary at Windows on the River with speaker Kathryn Bryan. 

Every generation has historically always had a negative bias towards incoming generations, but now with technology and information at our finger tips it seems like millennials are getting a bad rap. Well truth is they kind-of are, but not more than previous generations, the word just spreads faster and wider now. The goals of the lunch & learn is to cover the following:

• Allow older generations to better understand millennials
• Allow millennials to understand older generations
• Help all generations communicate more effectively with some simple tricks and tips.
• Make sure everyone takes away
  • factual knowledge about the history of millennials, Generation X, and Generation Y
  • problems we are seeing today in businesses
  • how technology influences businesses and millennials' role
  • how to develop innovative ideas to grow, sustain, and transition businesses to be successful by retaining good talent along the way

Kathryn Bryan, Ph.D. a native of Medina, Ohio, graduated with a B.S. in psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2000 and went on to receive her M.A. and Ph.D. from Kent State University in behavioral neuroscience. Kathryn has served as a postdoctoral research fellow and research associate at the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University, and the Cleveland VA Medical Center. She changed careers 6 years ago and is working with Skylight Financial Group, specifically working with individuals with special needs, LGBTQ families and business owners to help them reach their financial and personal goals. Kathryn’s background in neuroscience allows her to see a different perspective about business. Her expertise on learning mechanisms, behavior, and neuroscience allows her to help her clients build a better practice financially as well as thinking about their business from their employee’s and client’s point of view. Ultimately, Kathryn helps her clients bust through tough personal and business barriers that are holding them back!

She has been a recipient of Skylight’s Rising Leader awards and is very active in the community, and has served or is currently serving on the boards of Medina Creative Housing, the Renee Jones Empowerment Center for human trafficking, and A place for Us housing. In addition, she currently is on the Executive board for the Benjamin Rose Institute of Aging and Connecting for Kids. Her latest venture is the launch of a new young professionals networking group, called FLARE, focused on LGBTQ and ally rising entrepreneurs to build strong business, community and leadership connections in the Cleveland area. Most recently she was recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business as a 2016 “Forty Under 40” Honoree.
