NOTE: This is Part 1 of the Leadership Basics Professional Development Series. Part 2 is on April 27, 2017. It is suggested you attend Part 1 and Part 2, but not mandatory.
The concepts in these sessions are universal and can be applied in any organization. Leadership is not just a title, and leaders exist, both formally and informally, at every level of an organization.
Sessions will be participant based discussions guided by the facilitator. Interaction and idea sharing are key and will help provide perspective and understanding for those participating. Sessions can be tailored in length and to a target audience if background on the audience is given.

Leadership Position vs. Leading vs. Managing
A common misconception among today’s workforce is that managing is leading. Another is that those in leadership positions are leaders by virtue of their title and position. This session will dispel those misconceptions, and give the participants an understanding of the differences.
Define Leadership Position
At the conclusion of these sessions, participants will have a basic understanding of HAC leadership, and the differences between what it means to hold a leadership position, and to actually be leading.
